Meet Tom Crosby

About Tom Crosby

I established Crosby ADR in July 2016 to pursue my dream of a full-time mediation practice. My approach is grounded in over 35 years of experience in complex civil litigation, including personal injury, wrongful death, and commercial disputes.

Background

I earned my J.D. from University of California College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly Hastings College of the Law) in 1981 after graduating from Santa Clara University. I began my career at Crosby, Heafey, Roach & May, then spent nearly 18 years at Gordon & Rees LLP. In May 2001, I co-founded Crosby & Rowell LLP, where I practiced for 15 years before transitioning fully to mediation.

Mediation Credentials

I formally began my mediation training in 2005 at Pepperdine School of Law’s Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution ("Mediating the Litigated Case"). I have since completed 40-hour and advanced trainings with Steven Rosenberg.

I have been active in the legal community:

  • The Mediation Society: Past-President

  • Contra Costa County Bar Association: Past Board Member (ADR Section)

  • Alameda County Bar Association: Past Chair of the ADR Executive Committee

Location & Contact

Although based in Oakland, CA, where I conduct in-person mediations, I serve clients throughout California via Zoom. I know that choosing a mediator is a significant decision. Please contact me directly at (510) 418-0040 or tcrosby@crosbyadr.com to discuss your needs.
